The visual approach for measuring ammonia in air and liquid was derived by Pacific Technologies and Photonic BioSystems, two sensor development companies with over twenty years of ammonia sensor R&D. The method is adapted from technology developed for highly-sensitivity instruments to measure ammonia in biological, medical and food industry applications.
By having extensive expertise in the ammonia detection field, Pacific Sentry is able to custom develop robust and cost-efficient ammonia sensors for clients with exceedingly demanding requirements. These sensors are functional for gas/air and in-water/aquatic environments and capable of detecting traces of ammonia down in the 0.005 ppm (parts per million) range with visual observation. Additional sensitivity can be achieved with supplemental optical instrumentation.
